This agreement is a legally binding contract between you and the Genius platform (dz-genius.com). Our goal is to foster a safe, verified academic community for students and faculty across Algerian universities and colleges.
1. Acceptance of Terms & Service Scope
By browsing the Genius platform, creating an account, or publishing and downloading any course summary, past exam paper, or thesis, you expressly agree to abide by all provisions of this agreement and related policies, including our Privacy Policy and Payment Terms.
This service is specifically tailored for students, instructors, and researchers in Algerian public universities, Grandes Écoles, and accredited academic institutes.
2. User Accounts & Responsibilities
- Data accuracy: Users must provide accurate, current information upon registration (legal name, active email, university, and academic specialty).
- Account security: You are solely responsible for protecting your account credentials and for all download activity initiated from your account.
- Prohibition on sharing: Selling, renting, or unauthorized group sharing of student accounts is strictly prohibited.
- Registered access: Full-text document downloads and verified study vaults are accessible exclusively to authenticated members.
3. Intellectual Property & Author Rights
Genius upholds academic integrity and promotes original student intellectual contributions under the following guidelines:
Creator & Publisher Rights
Student and instructor creators retain full intellectual property of their personal lecture notes. By uploading a file, the creator grants Genius a non-exclusive license to host and distribute the material to registered peers.
Originality & Academic Integrity
It is strictly prohibited to upload copyrighted commercial textbooks or third-party published editions without explicit prior written authorization.
4. Downloads & Academic Fair Use
All course notes and study materials downloaded via Genius are licensed strictly for non-commercial personal study and exam preparation. Redistribution, resale, or republishing outside the platform is prohibited.
Genius reserves the right to apply invisible digital watermarking to downloaded files to deter piracy and safeguard author ownership.
5. Electronic Payments, 48-Hour Guarantee & Payouts
All transactions are processed in Algerian Dinars (DZD) via the certified national SATIM electronic payment network (Edahabia Card and CIB Interbank Card) with high-grade banking encryption.
Genius implements a 48-hour buyer protection escrow system: transaction funds are held in escrow for 48 hours to give the buyer sufficient time to inspect the downloaded document before earnings are released to the seller.
Refund Eligibility
A buyer may request a full refund within 48 hours if: the file is corrupted or unreadable, the content substantially diverges from the advertised course module/track, or the document is blank. Refunds will not be granted if the material matches its description.
Seller Payouts
Student and faculty creators can withdraw accumulated balances directly to their postal CCP account or BaridiMob once the minimum threshold is attained.
6. Prohibited Conduct & Account Suspension
The following infractions will trigger immediate account suspension and potential disciplinary action:
- Publishing live exam questions or attempting academic dishonesty during ongoing exam periods.
- Deploying scrapers, bots, or unauthorized extraction scripts against platform resources.
- Submitting fraudulent refund claims or misrepresenting file disputes.
- Posting defamatory, inappropriate, or unlawful content violating academic ethics.
7. Disclaimers & Limitation of Liability
Genius operates as a technology and peer-to-peer academic marketplace. While we provide automated checks and verified peer reviews, we cannot warrant that student-authored notes are entirely free of typographical or conceptual errors.
We strive for 99.9% server availability but cannot accept liability for disruptions originating from national telecommunications providers or third-party banking gateways.
8. Terms Amendments & Legal Contact
Genius reserves the right to modify these Terms of Service at any time to reflect regulatory and functional updates. Registered users will be notified of material modifications via email or in-app announcements.
